Fritz!Box

Fritz!Box devices are a series of residential gateway devices produced by the German company AVM GmbH. Fritz!Box devices work well with Simbase SIMs, therefore, you can be sure you will be able to use Simbase service without problems.

Please ensure that you are using the latest Fritz!Box router firmware, as older versions have different steps.

Before proceeding with your router setup, make sure you have activated your SIM card on your Simbase dashboard. In case you have not, please do so by referring to our SIM activation guide. After activating a card, you can begin setting up the router by following the steps below.

In order to set up the device, there are a few things you need to do:

Hardware preparation

  1. Punch out the correct SIM size out of your Simbase SIM card.

  2. Insert your Simbase SIM card into the router SIM holder and push it in until it clicks.

  3. Insert the power cable into the router and power outlet.

Upon powering your router, it should take a few minutes for the Wi-Fi network to appear, and then you can connect your PC to it. Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password can be found on the bottom of the router.

  1. After a successful connection to the router, type the following address into your browser address bar: 169.254.1.1.

  2. You will be prompted to the login page. Use the username and password located on the bottom of the router or provided with the device documents.

  1. On the left of the admin panel, select 'Internet' and click 'Account Information'.

  2. Select 'Specify access point name (APN)' and enter 'simbase' in the 'Access point' field.
