SIM state

Last updated 1 year ago

SIM states are straightforward with Simbase. There are two SIM states available:

Enabled - Services are enabled and a daily active fee per SIM is charged.

Disabled - Services are disabled and no costs are charged for this SIM.

Simbase offers the flexibility of disabling SIM cards without incurring any cost. This feature enables users to temporarily pause the usage of their SIM cards by simply accessing the dashboard and selecting the option to disable the SIM card. The disabling process can be performed on individual SIM cards or in batches. It is important to note that disabling a SIM card does not equate to deletion, as the SIM can be reactivated at a later time.

Disabling a SIM card stops billing and disallows any services on the SIM. Additionally, the daily active fee will not be charged if the SIM has been disabled for the entire calendar day (00:00 to 24:00) . We advise disabling a SIM card rather than deleting it if there is uncertainty about future usage. However, it is crucial to ensure that a disabled SIM does not attempt to connect to the Mobile Network, as this could lead to a high volume of rejected registration attempts, potentially resulting in a permanent ban from the network. To avoid this, it is recommended to power off the device or remove the SIM card from the device

There are two ways to disable SIM cards:

  1. Disabling SIMs Individually

  2. Disabling SIMs In Bulk

Disabling SIMs Individually

To disable a SIM card follow these steps:

  1. Click on 'SIM cards' in the navigation on the left side of the dashboard.

  2. Select a SIM card you wish to disable.

  3. In the 'State' field, click the switch button.

After you complete these steps, your SIM card is disabled and it will not be able to connect to the network unless you enable it again.

Changing SIM state in bulk

You can enable or disable multiple SIMs by following these steps:

  1. Click on 'SIM cards' in the navigation on the left side of the dashboard.

  2. Tick the box next to each SIM card for which you wish to change the SIM state.

  3. After you select all SIM cards you wish to change, click 'Enable' or 'Disable' at the top of the SIM list.

After you complete these steps, each SIM card you selected is updated.
