APN
An Access Point Name (APN) is a configuration setting that defines the network path for your mobile device to connect to the Internet over a cellular data network. It consists of a series of values that are used to identify and authenticate the device with the cellular network, as well as to specify the types of services and network protocols that the device is allowed to use.
APN settings are typically configured by the mobile device's manufacturer or the mobile carrier and are automatically applied to the device when it is activated on the network.
APN settings typically include the following values:
APN: The name of the access point that the device will connect to.
APN Type: The type of data connection that the device will use (e.g., internet, mms).
Authentication Type: The type of authentication that will be used to connect to the APN (e.g., none, PAP, CHAP).
User Name and Password: The user name and password that will be used to authenticate the device with the APN (if applicable).
The default APN settings for all our SIM cards are:
APN settings are important because they allow the device to connect to the Internet and access data services. Without the correct APN settings, the device may not be able to connect to the Internet or may be unable to access certain types of data services.
Please make sure to set the correct APN in your device. Do not rely on the default APN proposed by your hardware, as it is considered insecure and might result into an unstable data connection.
Public vs Private APN
Public APNs are typically used to provide Internet access and other data services to mobile devices when they are outside of the coverage area of a private network. They are often used in conjunction with data roaming, which allows a mobile device to connect to and use a foreign network provided by another wireless carrier while traveling outside of its home network coverage area.
A private APN is a configuration setting that defines the network path for a mobile device to connect to the Internet over a private cellular data network. Private APNs are typically used by organizations to provide Internet access and other data services to mobile devices within a specific coverage area, such as a campus or office building.
Private APNs are typically managed by the organization and are not available for use by devices outside of the private network. They are often used to provide secure, dedicated Internet access to devices within the organization, and may include additional security measures such as encryption and authentication to protect the data transmitted over the network.
In summary, public APNs are used to provide Internet access and other data services to mobile devices over a public cellular data network, while private APNs are used to provide Internet access and other data services to mobile devices over a private cellular data network.
